On Tuesday November 15th, Trinity Air Medical was honored to be a part of “It’s a Pink Thing” fundraising event held at Park Wood Assisted Living in Surprise, AZ. Lisa “Reba” Mason Mikutowicz founded Reba’s Vision after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. Reba is the co-founder of the Pink Roadhouse Mammo Fund. She is dedicated to raising funds that help women get 3D, low dose mammograms for those who do not have insurance or cannot afford one. She also heads up the Basket of Hope program that gives those suffering from the effects of cancer a welcomed gift. To date she has raised approximately $80,000 for this cause.
The speaker at today’s event was Dr. Steven Charney, Banner Boswell Medical Imaging Director. Dr. Charney spoke about the 3D mammography and informed attendees about being their own advocate when it comes to their healthcare. The new low dose mammogram will improve patient care and increase efficiency, said Dr. Charney.
